Hi, I'm new to this forum so : Hello everyone :angel4:

I'm playing Yugioh (ofcourse) and I have a question.
I just bought the structure deck : Invincible Fortress and I'm thinking about putting 3x the card ''Nutrient Z'' in it.

Now, my question is: Does ''Nutrient Z'' activate if your opponent attacks with a monster of 2000 attack pts. or when you take 2000 dmg to your life pts?

Sorry if its kind of a noob question, but I can't seem to figure out if ''battle dmg'' is just damage when your opponent attacks your monster or if you get dmg to your life points.
Many thanks in advance

First... Welcome Guardian, hope we can help you with every question that you may have...

And yes, you can activite Nutrient Z, when you take 2000 or more, don't need to activate when you take exactly 2000
Until I play my last card... I swear, I won't give up, trust me.

Thank you, Painfromtje.

So if I understand correctly what you say, I can activate it the moment my opponent declares an attack with a monster of 2000 atk pts. without having gained 2000 dmg to my life pts. right?

It is activated during damage calculation. There are 6 sub steps in the damage step (I think, I don't remember).

Step 1 is where stuff like mystic swordsman lv 2 resolves (but not drillroid).
Step 2 is where you flip the monster face up (if it was facedown). Drillroid's effect activates here, after the monster is flipped face up apparently...
Step 3 is where you can play ATK/DEF modifying cards. This is part 1 of damage calculation.
Step 4 is where damage is actually dealt (I believe it activates here, no sooner, no later; same with Kuriboh). This is part 2 of damage calculation.
Step 5 is where you resolve almost everything (except those whose effects activate in the graveyard or at the end of the damage step, more on that later). Now monsters are considered destroyed for such effects that require the monster to ONLY BE DESTROYED (Ha Des, Apprentice Magician, so on). And flip effects activate here if you didn't guess at it already.
Step 6 is where monsters actually get sent to the graveyard. Then resolve effects that require the monster to be sent to the graveyard (Sangan, Mystic Tomato, and so on). Also, resolve effects of cards whose effects activate "at the end of the damage step".
