Ive decided that every now and again im gonna post a topic to get your thoughts on whatever topic happens to come up on that day.

So we start with a Yu-Gi-Oh! related topic.

Basicly this started because my freind has a completly unthemed deck and i was convinced that his deck worked on fluke and you had to have a themed deck to get anywhere on the world stage.

He had told me and others in my team that he had reached third in 2005 and to be honest we didnt exactly believe him.

Then one day i found a profile on a jap Yu-Gi-Oh! player and former world champion. There he mentions "Those brave dualists that go againts the flow like Mr Saltman...." In referance to my freind.

So basicly i conceeded that he wasnt lying but was adament that its 2010 and now you need themes to get anywhere.

Yet time and time again he beat me. No matter the build inluding many posted here. For my Junk OTK he is the one deck of those that go to my club that it cant beat! In fact if it wasnt for him it would have gone to the local tourney i won undefeaten.

So i then built one. I have edited it no end and was convinced that though the decks are very similar sharing 17 of the same card it would fail as i believed his deck was a fluke build.

Anyway now i have beaten his deck and i must conceed he was right.....or is he!?

Comment and give me your opinion.

P.S. Another freind of myn thinks it wrong to copy.....which i didnt i toke ideas from his deck but is this wrong to do!?

my deck is completely unthemed and undeafeted i even beat the guy who came 6th nationals with it my opinion theme decks can easily be countered with certain cards (which can be in a side deck) or other themes that can dominate it as a exact counter my decks built as a all around ready for just about anything its made up of 50 cards always stradegys in almost every hand

MY want list
cards for trade

Though i agree i still believe 40 cards is the way to go....

that aside i still have alot of faith in themed decks.

i agree 40 would be good idk i cant really cut out any more cards

but think of this imagine you make a e hero deck and you take it to a tourney you happen to go up against a anti fusion or anti warrior and lose to a noobish but it had all your counters you woulda got elimiated thats why i prefer no theme i think i said that confusing like hopefully you get what im saying

see personally i think themeing a deck makes the deck more engoyable to play......however my unthemed deck does have a little more kick and is harder to counter.
