The effect of Dark Strike Fighter says i can tribute 1 monster to inflict damage to your opponent equal to its Level x 200.

Can i choose opponents monsters as there is no indication as to what side the monster has to be on?

it has to be one of your own monsters because the tribute's are a cost and a cost you have to pay so it must be one monster on your side of the field.

it on your side but if you use Brain Control you can tribute opponents monster
