An unlimited card is a card that you're allowed a maximum of 3 copies to use in your deck(s) when playing.
As for checking if your card is authentic there are many ways. Here is a list of many signs of a card being fake.
- Check the name of the card for incorrect spelling of names.
- Check the back of the card. If the "Kanomi" on the back is spelled incorrectly, it is fake.
- Check the number of stars on the card. Compare it to a guide to see if it is correct.
- If the card feels overly glossy or not glossy at all, it's usually fake.
- If there is no shiny square at the bottom right hand corner, or if the square is not gold or silver, it's fake. All Yu-Gi-Oh! cards made by Konami will have a small shiny square in the bottom right-hand corner that has the symbol of an Eye. These are real. This is something to definitely look for If the card is
Ultra Rare or
Super Rare.
- Look closely at the ATK and DEF on the card, if it is misaligned, it's fake.
- Read the text. If the font is too thin or too thick, or there are spelling mistakes, it could be a fake, but some boosters have thicker text, an example being
Cyberdark Impact.
- Examine the picture. If it is blurry or poor quality, it may be fake, however I should note that Duel Terminal cards have a coat which makes the cards look blurry in a way.
- If the color of the card is wrong, too pale or too bright, it's fake. Some boosters like Gladiators Assault have brighter colours and Duel Terminal cards have darker colours because of the parallel coat.
monster = yellow
effect monster = orange
spell = turquoise
trap = purple
- If the collector's number(under the picture on the right hand side just above the text) is missing, it's fake
- On the back, if the TM, Konami, or R symbol are missing, it's fake. Exception is Egyptian God cards.
- If it is a
spell/
trap card and has ATK & DEF, it is fake
- If the
monster type does not have the Japanese symbol it's fake
- Examine the back of the card.If it is
dark orange, then it definitely is a phony.
That should cover all bases.
